Another close friend of mine is leaving Singapore, probably for good. He will be transferring to Thailand for work.
With what's been going on in this country now, I won't be surprised if this isn't the last time I'd be hearing this kind of news. The locals here are already complaining about foreign talents being the cause of overcrowding in Singapore, and also the seemingly 'lack' of jobs for them. I am not sure if they see us as a threat, but one thing I am quite sure of, they're hating their government for being too lenient in letting foreigners come here for work (40-45% of the workforce in Singapore are foreigners).
Should I get worried? I think I am already done with that phase. My security doesn't lie on the stability of my job. I mean, I've been staying and working here in Singapore for four years now, and already experienced losing my job not just once.
But why am I still here in this country?
Is it something that I am in control of?
Is this what they usually call 'survival of the fittest'?
Or maybe there is a higher purpose?
