Security

Another close friend of mine is leaving Singapore, probably for good. He will be transferring to Thailand for work.

With what's been going on in this country now, I won't be surprised if this isn't the last time I'd be hearing this kind of news. The locals here are already complaining about foreign talents being the cause of overcrowding in Singapore, and also the seemingly 'lack' of jobs for them. I am not sure if they see us as a threat, but one thing I am quite sure of, they're hating their government for being too lenient in letting foreigners come here for work (40-45% of the workforce in Singapore are foreigners).

Should I get worried? I think I am already done with that phase. My security doesn't lie on the stability of my job. I mean, I've been staying and working here in Singapore for four years now, and already experienced losing my job not just once.

But why am I still here in this country?

Is it something that I am in control of?

Is this what they usually call 'survival of the fittest'?

Or maybe there is a higher purpose?

  7. With your post I was led to a thought that life really isn't permanent. That no matter how long you'll gonna stay in a particular place there'll come a time that you will leave may it be triggered by other outside factors or by your own reason.

There is always a purpose in it Lex, all you need to do is to decipher it with the leadings of the supreme deity above us (God). Just obey :)

  12. From an observer's point of view, I think it's the challenge. And people who like it tough should be commended. But then there's always that reason you said, a grand purpose, a grand design of a higher power which we all have to submit to.
